Popping in to check the rotating artwork on gallery level of Springett’s Arcade is a must see, but what exactly is the story behind this rotating artwork?
The Springett’s Chalk Art Mural Program on the gallery level of Springett’s arcade is a rotating art exhibit celebrating seasonal and current events of Australia. Springett’s Arcade General Manager Mark Springett introduced the program during Christmas 2016 to bring a bit of fun and lively art to the arcade.
“The art changes every 11 weeks in Springett’s Arcade and brings in the very talented artists from Zest Events,” said Mark. “We are delighted to have Jenny McCarthy coming on 2nd September to do an interpretation of the Mary Poppins theme in conjunction with Tulip Time 2019.”
According to Zest Events Managing Director Andi Mether, “Each project is a collaboration. Mark Springett provides us with themes and images for inspiration, and we work as team to develop the concept and then the artist brings the work to life on site. The Zest team have been taking turns in visiting Bowral and the artists are getting quite competitive! We’re always keen to produce something different to refresh the site and give people something to talk about. We love the feedback and welcome suggestions from Springett’s Arcade regulars.”
