Rare Cancers Australia (RCA) officially opened its new premises in Springett’s Arcade with a grand opening event hosting more than 50 attendees on Friday 19 July.
Co-founders Richard and Kate Vines established Rare Cancers Australia Ltd as a charity whose purpose is to improve the lives and health outcomes of Australians living with rare and less common (RLC) cancers. Focus areas for the organisation include creating a patient community, patient support, fundraising, treatment and research and early diagnosis.
The new premises will be home to their great works including our support for those patients participating in the Australian Genomics Cancer Medicines Centre. RCA is working with researchers from around Australia to help patients get the absolute latest and best treatments available.
Though only moving meters down the gallery level, Rare Cancers now occupies the entire western suite, which was refurbished to include offices with natural light, new windows, skylights, carpeting and paint as well as configured for offices and boardroom.
“We are delighted with the new premises” said Richard Vines of Rare Cancers, “We have been in Springetts Arcade for 6 of our 7 years and it’s been great for us. We love the sense of community and belonging that comes from sharing the Arcade with so many other great people and companies.”
