A century of history, generations of memories and one very special celebration! Join us at Springett’s Arcade on Sunday 25 October for a fun-filled day of FREE family entertainment.
This October marks an extraordinary milestone for one of Bowral’s most familiar landmarks. It’s been 100 years since the Springett family first arrived in Bowral on 2 October 1926, beginning a remarkable story of family enterprise, innovation and community connection that continues today.
To celebrate, we’re inviting the entire Southern Highlands community to join us for a very special Centenary Community Day on Sunday 25 October 2026, from 10am to 2pm.
There’ll be magic, colourful characters, live music, interactive fun for the kids and a wonderful opportunity to celebrate a century of Springett family history. Best of all, every activity and entertainment performance is completely FREE!

A Birthday Party for the Whole Community!
We’ve planned a fantastic line-up of entertainment, with something to delight our youngest visitors and plenty for the whole family to enjoy.
Here’s what’s happening on the day:
- Meet Bluey! Everyone’s favourite blue heeler will be making a special appearance, with opportunities for little fans to say hello and capture a memorable photo.

- Live Magic Shows: Prepare to be amazed with two exciting stage performances presented by Glenn Keeley and Fly By Fun, running from 11am–12pm and 1pm–2pm.
- FREE Face Painting: From butterflies and superheroes to colourful creations, our talented face painters from Sunshine Parties will be transforming little faces throughout the day.
- FREE Balloon Twisting: Watch as balloons become wonderful shapes and characters to take home.
- Colouring-In Competition: Budding young artists can join the birthday celebrations and show off their creativity through Gallery Pop Up’s colouring in competition!
- Interactive Floor Display: In a special nod to the Arcade’s much-loved original fish tank, the fish are back! Visitors can step into an interactive floor projection featuring colourful koi fish swimming beneath their feet and frogs jumping between lily pads.
- Live Piano Music: Enjoy the atmosphere of live piano music by Louise Bell throughout the day, adding a special touch to the celebrations.
Bluey, face painting, balloon twisting and the interactive floor display will be available throughout the event from 10am to 2pm, so there’s plenty of time to enjoy the fun.
Whether you’re coming for the magic, bringing the little ones to meet Bluey, enjoying the live piano music or reliving a little Springett’s nostalgia with the fish-themed floor display, we’d love to see you there!
100 Years of Springett’s in Bowral
While the day promises plenty of excitement, there’s a very special story behind the celebrations.
When the Springett family arrived in Bowral in 1926, they could hardly have imagined how deeply their name would become woven into the history of the Southern Highlands.
What began as a family business grew and adapted through generations, from its early food and retail operations to the expanding enterprises that would help shape the Bowral town centre.
Over the decades, the Springetts introduced new ideas, embraced changing technology and continually looked for ways to meet the needs of a growing community.
The addition of a second storey in 1936, the expansion into Wingecarribee Street in 1956 and the eventual completion of Springett’s Arcade in 1984 were all important chapters in that journey.
