Be Part of the Art Competition 2026
ATTENTION Wingecarribee Grade 6 Schools
2026 Entries Now Open
Now in its fifth year, this much-loved community competition gives students the chance to have their artwork proudly displayed in the historic Springett’s Arcade for locals and visitors to enjoy.
Each year, we love seeing the creativity, colour and personality students bring to the arcade. In 2026, we’re inviting schools to celebrate the places that make the Southern Highlands so special.
2026 Theme
Students are invited to create an artwork inspired by a place they love in the Southern Highlands. This could be a well-known landmark, a favourite local spot, a garden, lookout, park, street scene, natural wonder, or anywhere that feels meaningful to them.
How the Competition Works
Participating schools are invited to complete the activity with their Year 6 students at any time during the school year.
Each school will then select and submit their student artworks for judging.
The top six winning entries from participating schools will be transformed into large banners and displayed in Springett’s Arcade.

Students should include a short description with their artwork, explaining what they have created and why they believe this place is one of the most inspiring in the Southern Highlands.
We encourage students to be creative, thoughtful and imaginative in how they bring their chosen place to life.
Judging will be completed by a panel of professional artists appointed by Springett’s Arcade Management.
